Syrian Conference on Biomedical Sciences

In a move aimed at promoting scientific research and linking academic efforts between Syria and the diaspora, the Syrian Conference on Biomedical Sciences (SCBS) is launching as the first conference of its kind in Damascus dedicated to students of medicine, pharmacy, science, and biomedical engineering.

The conference will bring together more than 200 students from various Syrian universities, along with prominent Syrian researchers from inside and outside Syria as keynote speakers.
The conference aims to:

  • Present student research through short lecture sessions and scientific poster presentations.
  • Convey the latest scientific developments in vital fields such as cancer, immunology, pharmacy, and molecular biology.
  • Organize training and professional workshops to support students’ research and academic skills.
  • Provide opportunities for networking and scientific guidance between students and researchers.

To ensure that knowledge reaches all students in Syria, the conference sessions will also be available online. Travel grants have also been allocated to eight students from outside Damascus to facilitate their participation.

The conference is not just an academic event… It is a strategic step in rebuilding Syria’s scientific cadres, creating new research collaboration opportunities, and empowering Syrian youth to engage in scientific projects capable of bringing about real change in the health and education sectors within Syria.
