A social dialogue project that seeks to bridge the gap between Syrian women inside and outside Syria and promote dialogue and understanding between the sexes by building sustainable bridges of communication and cooperation that contribute to the empowerment of Syrian women in various social, professional, and cultural fields.

The project is based on the belief that dialogue is the first step towards positive change, and that creating a safe space for discussion can rebuild trust and solidarity among Syrians after long years of division and silence.

Project objectives

Maghzel Kalam aims to:

• Create a safe space for open dialogue between women inside and outside Syria to promote understanding and solidarity.
• Strengthen women’s networks by connecting Syrian women to initiatives that provide training workshops, support, and funding opportunities.
• Encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences on legal rights, employment opportunities, and community leadership.
• Bringing the voices of Syrian women to the international arena, contributing to changing stereotypes about Syrian women, and highlighting their true role in society.

Mechanisms of Action

The project implements its objectives through a series of interactive and practical activities, most notably:

1. Monthly online discussion sessions bringing together Syrian women from inside and outside the country to discuss common issues and exchange experiences.
2. Face-to-face meetings between Syrian women and men to open spaces for mutual dialogue based on respect and understanding.
3. Establishment of a broad network of Syrian women leaders, activists, professionals, and students, to be used as a platform for exchanging support and experiences and building new opportunities for cooperation.
4. Share success stories, challenges, and solutions from different Syrian environments—both inside the country and in the diaspora—with the aim of inspiring and exchanging real-life experiences.

The Maghzal Kalam project aspires to build a more connected and understanding Syrian society, where women’s voices are clearly heard and where there is room for honest discussion between different groups.
The project focuses on the idea that empowerment is not achieved solely through training or financial support, but begins with the recognition of experience and the ability to participate in dialogue.

In a society that has been affected by years of silence, Maghzal Kalam seeks to reweave the broken threads between Syrians and open the doors to conversation, not as a social luxury, but as a necessary act to build a more just and inclusive future.
